The Heritage Orchestra perform John Cage's 4'33 seconds

Join us at Selfridges London on 23 February for a special performance of John Cage's 4'33 seconds in celebration of our No Noise initiative.

Founded in 2004 by Chris Wheeler and Jules Buckley, the Heritage Orchestra has made its name as one of the most experimental and flexible young orchestras around, veering wildly between genres and incorporating new technology and visual art into its performances.

John Cage's groundbreaking 4'33 was composed in 1952 for any instrument, mainly because the musician is instructed not to play the instrument at all during the performance. Instead, the piece consists of the noise of the environment that's created during the performance.

This unique piece will be performed in the atrium on 3 at Selfridges London at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm.
