The staff at our four stores are bursting with plenty of wonderful wine knowledge. We asked some of our Wine Shop experts to share their favourite tipple and what best to enjoy it with.

SELFRIDGES SELECTION Touraine Sauvignon Blanc 750ml
£8.09

This crisp, dry Sauvignon Blanc originates from vineyards with sandy limestone slopes, producing a delicate mineral quality. With fruity aromas such as gooseberries, it goes well with seafood and is also an ideal aperitif.

Kazumi from Oxford Street
BODEGAS LORCA Fantasia, Torrontes 2008 750ml
£10.79

This Torrontes wine tastes like a cross between Viognier (its earthiness) and Gewurztraminer (its spiciness). First, you will be captivated by its perfumed floral notes of jasmine flowers & rose petals on the nose, then it bursts in your mouth with fresh and exotic fruits of lychees and peaches. It is soft, rich, with a touch of oiliness, yet very refreshing. Finish is long too. This delightful wine perfectly matches with Asian food, especially Thai.

NIEPOORT Drink Me 2006 750ml l
£11.69

It’s time to discover the delights of English wine. Bacchus, named after the Roman god of wine is the best white grape variety to grow in England. Sourced from vineyards across Kent, Sussex and Essex, it produces a lively vibrant style of wine with delicate floral notes on the nose, a zesty lemon-grapefruit palate and a hint of ginger on the spicy finish – Riesling meets Sauvignon Blanc? Perfect with oysters, seafood, even pork with apple sauce.   A scarily easy wine to drink, this fruity medium bodied red wine from the famous Douro region in Portugal, with its surreal label is the perfect wine for an evening in front of the television.

NAIA Naia 750ml
£12.59

Sam from Manchester Exchange
A-Z Amarone 2007 750ml

Looks can be deceiving but in the case of the Naia the wine is just as vibrant and exciting as its appearance. Made from 100% Verdejo the wine has aromas of lemongrass and kiwi. The palate is full with flavours `of honey and orange peel, while finish is long and elegant. I am a big fan of this wine, as it is perfect with food but you will have no problem drinking it on its own.   This fantastic Amarone was created in 1999. The specific aim was to work with the wine growers to obtain ripe grapes and then, using all the knowledge and expertise of wine maker Matt Thompson, to create a modern wine that preserves these flavours in the final wine. The wine itself is a full bodied and intensely rich, full of dried fruits and spice balanced against some lovely ripe tannins. This wonderful wine is the perfect pairing for roast lamb on a Sunday afternoon.
