The Hotlist 20/06/2012

From the weird to the wonderful, amusing to the amazing, each week we bring you the coolest goings-on out there in the big, wide world – straight from our creative office.

NIKE MAKES THE CUT: This month, Nike unveils its first pop-up Nike Barbershop in Paris, a real-life, functioning, retro barber offering free haircuts to the public, a video gaming room to hang out in, an art space, a photo booth and a small Nike shop. The shop is part of a tongue-in-cheek viral campaign, created with French advertising agency LEG, and featuring Italian footballer Mario Balotelli trialling various kooky hairstyles. Everything about this is a cut above. FROM LSN GLOBAL

LIGHT MY FIRE: Luzinterruptus is an anonymous artistic group in Madrid who seek to highlight problems within the city using a wide variety of temporary light-based installations and their latest project involves an ex public swimming pool. Town residents used the pool all year round until it was demolished with a firm promise from the Town Hall, that there would be a new pool in its place within two years. As of the 21/03/12 deadline, the construction of the swimming pool had not begun and so on the site of the lost pool, the collective literally ‘highlighted’ the problem for all to see. Enlightening. 3D PHOTO BOOTH: Riding the wave of photo booth fun, Brooklyn-based company, The Bosco, takes the frenzy a step further with the first 3-D and automatic GIF picture-takers. The Bosco is the brainchild of co-founders Nick Fehr and Aaron Fisher-Cohen and their exclusive line of rentable photo booths and video confessionals “embraces the intersection of emerging technology and art.” Equipped with an iPad-based interface, the maching bit allows users to print their photos as they are simultaneously uploaded to the Internet, enabling instant social media sharing. FOREVER CRAZY: Few other nightclubs hold a heritage and reputation like The Crazy Horse Paris, the famous cabaret club founded by artist Alain Bernadin in 1951. No strangers to fashion, the celebrated girls, who have to pass strict guidelines of cup size, height and measurements, perform in custom-designed Louboutin heels and have collaborated with designers such as Karl Lagerfeld. Interested? The Crazy Horse is set to come to London for an opulent show performing acts from their 60 years retrospective. Titled Forever Crazy, the show will run for three months starting during Autumn's London Fashion Week in a luxury new venue on the Southbank. FROM ANOTHERMAG
